Yallingup Forest Resort

Yallingup Forest Resort is set deep within the forests off Hemsley Rd. If you look carefully you will find some beautiful varandahed timber chalets which provide privately owned accommodation to the public. As the owners are remote, a manager's house and office is provided on site.

Cathy and James Peck took on the management role in 2012, and were faced with the challenge of moving their family from a large house near town into a remote two bedroom cottage. This cottage was required to provide a comfortable, safe and private space for their three children as well as a working office/laundry for the daily running of the resort. 

The project consisted of knocking out walls, altering windows, relocating a bathroom and the construction of a new wing.  By knocking out the exsiting back wall to the kitchen, a huge farm kitchen/dining area leading out to a sunny courtyard was achieved.  The new wing, which accommodates a large main bedroom with ensuite, is a gabled construction of painted primeline weatherboard walls and Colorbond roof. The result is a cosy home with an efficient office.
